New Demag Travel Drive
The new Demag E22-C travel drive offers improved operations, thanks to even more precise travel characteristics. It is used for DC chain hoists running on I-beam girders and for the KBK light crane systems.

A key feature of the new E22-C travel drive is the control and detection of the motor speed via a separate rotary encoder, which facilitates master/slave operation. In this mode, one of the two travel drives is pre-selected as the master unit. This unit receives the speed command via the control pendant of the chain hoist and communicates the speed reference value to the slave drive. This arrangement enables very good synchronisation between long-travel drives, as does the combination with the RF 125 friction-wheel travel drive, which virtually eliminates any slips.

Speed control from the control pendant also provides the user with more convenient operations. When used in connection with a DCS-Pro chain hoist, which is controlled by an integrated frequency inverter, even more precise travel characteristics can be achieved, thanks to the infinitely variable long and cross-travel movements.

A further benefit compared to the previous E22 model is offered by the status display located on the underside of the housing. This bright and easily legible display allows the operating status of the travel drive to be read off without interrupting operation.

Demag E chain hoist travel drives
The new universal E22-C drive is an integral part of the modular trolley system for the DC chain hoist range. In combination with the U22 push-travel trolley, it forms a unit for travel on parallel and sloping profile sections. Used together with lateral steel guide rollers, the flangeless travel wheels, which are made of spheroidal graphite cast iron, provide for smooth travel and, at the same time, a long service life. With a load capacity of up to 2,200 kg, the trolley combination can be used with chain hoists of up to size DC 25. In connection with the RF 125 friction-wheel travel drive, this provides a system solution that is ready to be used on the KBK light crane system.
