At the construction of the new National Highway NH-52 from Moga to <span style="font-weight: bold;">Shahkot, Dilip Buildcon Ltd </span>has employed several HAMM 311 compactors for compaction of the sub-base. <p></p><p> In Punjab, the new national highway, NH-52, is under construction with two lanes in each direction. The new road will provide many communities with better links to the national road network. In some parts, the existing carriageways are being refurbished and widened, while in other sections, totally new roads are being constructed.</p><p>Earth work and asphalt construction on the almost 33 km long section was carried out by the Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)-based Dilip Buildcon Ltd. The company has been successfully working with Wirtgen India for almost 10 years and has now assembled a fleet of more than 100 HAMM rollers. For compaction of the sub-base for the new road around Moga, Dilip Buildcon employed a total of eight 311 compactors. For the asphalt compaction, a number of HAMM type HD 99 tandem rollers were used. HAMM produces both machine types in its factory in India.</p><p>The 311 compactor with the HAMM 3-point articulation was developed especially for India in a joint German-Indian team of engineers and has been in production in Pune for some years. With an operating weight of 11 t and a 2.14 m wide vibration drum, it brings high compaction force and a large static linear load of up to 30 kg/cm to the construction site. This enables the machine to perform a wide range of tasks with ease.</p><p>The environment-friendly engine in the 311 compactor is in accordance with CBV BS III and is quiet and economical. To take account of the often extremely high temperatures in India, the engine of the compactor has been specially designed to facilitate operation at up to 55°C. </p><p>The compactor complies with Indian laws and regulations in every detail, from the engine and the lighting system all the way to the specific dimensions.
